About the Role:Job SummaryThe certified senior athletic trainer provides athletic training services to patients and clients of Northeast Georgia Physicians Group Sports Medicine (NGPG) in the high school or college setting. These services may include, but not limited to, on site assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation of acute injuries, education, exercise conditioning, and school insurance policy management. The senior athletic trainer works closely with the NGPG Sports Medicine Providers to enhance the all around care given to the patients and clients of NGPG Sports Medicine as well as fellow entry-level NGPG athletic trainers. The senior athletic trainer works independently in their setting as the liaison between student athlete, school administration, and NGPG by following the guidelines of the National Athletic Training Association and the Georgia Athletic Trainer Licensure Act. The certified athletic trainer performs clinical duties in accordance with population specific guidelines and adheres to National Patient Safety Goals as outlined in the athletic training policy and procedure manual. The senior athletic trainer will work to educate students training in the medical field (health occ & college students) whether at the high school or college level. Minimum Job Qualifications

  • Licensure or other certifications: Applicant must hold current licensure, certification, and be in good standings with the State of Georgia and NATABOC and must also be certified in professional BLS.
  • Educational Requirements: Masters Degree. Graduate of an accredited college or university with a master's degree in athletic training, related field (master of science), or education/teaching (master of education).

      • Demonstrate competency in applying principles, methods, material and equipment used in athletic training Essential Tasks and Responsibilities
        • Provides cost effective and high quality care to patients served. These services may include rehabilitation of injuries, education, exercise conditioning, injury screening, and on-site treatment and care of acute injuries. Provides patient care consistent with the medical findings, physician orders, and established plan of care. Follows departmental policy and procedure preserving patient confidentiality, privacy and dignity. Completes appropriate documentation in a timely manner. Provides athletic training coverage at sporting events, along with prevention and education about sports related injuries. Creates and develops a good working rapport with students, parents, coaches, athletic director, school administration, and physicians. The athletic trainer works independently in their setting as the liaison between student athlete, school administration, and NGPG/NGHS by settings following the guidelines of the National Athletic Training Association and the Georgia Athletic Trainer Licensure Act. Documents treatment procedures following departmental policies and procedures and in compliance with third party payers guidelines. Accomplishes good clinical outcomes using national benchmarks and comparisons to others in the same service area. The athletic trainer works closely with the physical and occupational therapist to enhance the all around care given to the patients and clients of The Rehabilitation Institute. The Athletic trainer is responsible to fill initial insurance injury claims to school accidental policy. The AT is to be the resource to the schools insurance coordinator to answer questions regarding the status of the claims advising them as to how to proceed. The athletic trainer will work to schedule all MD visits for their athletes. The athletic trainer is responsible for report participation status to athletic department officials. Education of student athlete as to their injury, treatment, and rehabilitation, Athletic Department policy and NAIA or NCAA rules regarding payment of medical bills, permissible vs. non-permissible. The Athletic Trainer is responsible for contacting and communicating with athlete's legal guardian regarding injury or bill status after obtaining permission from athletes of legal age and status. The athletic trainer is responsible for working with the Athletic Director to manage a budget for ATR operations and supplies. The athletic trainer is responsible for day-to-day operation of the school's drug-testing program. The athletic trainer Is responsible for representing the school at conference functions regarding sports medicine such as attendance of conference meetings and communications between member institutions.
        • Contributes to the effective operation of the department by consistently meets and exceeds department productivity standards (monthly average) and demonstrates good time management and organizational skills.
        • Communicates effectively and demonstrates good customer service and interpersonal skills. Consistently initiates positive and professional communication with medical and department staff and community outreach contacts as evidenced by peer review, surveys, and observation. Demonstrates flexibility by pro-actively resolving conflicts, scheduling problems, and completing assignments in a timely manner. Exhibits effective team work and interdisciplinary team-building skills as evidenced by manager observation, peer review, and outside community contacts. Actively participates in customer service surveys and averages a score of 3.5 or above on individual and department surveys. Physical Demands
