Job Description Process Technology Engineer - Kennesaw, GANature & Scope:The Process Technology Engineer is concentrated in the manufacturing and packaging processes of finished form probiotics - a fast-paced, high-growth platform for ADM.
We are looking for a technical expert who is creative, hands-on, and team-oriented capable of increasing our operating profit by improving the effectiveness in our operations.
The primary purpose of the position is to ensure plant process systems are designed, built, operated, and maintained at optimal levels.Major Accountabilities:Collaborates with equipment and project engineers on the development, evaluation, and integration of new manufacturing and packaging designs and enhancements to meet strategic business plans and customer requirementsIdentify, collaborate and/or lead projects to reduce losses and/or increase OEE:
rates, yields, capacity, schedule attainmentWork closely with company subject matter experts on the tech transfer of new products, new technologies and implementation of innovative approaches to plant operation and maintenanceCollaborates with technicians, engineers, and operators to benchmark the facility and develop standardized system to define and sustain optimal processes and equipment set-upsServe as a technical partner for the site including production and maintenance employees, plant operations and leadership team, other manufacturing sites, corporate engineering, S&T organizations, and external partnersWork closely with local Plant Manager to identify and address current and future capacity constraints based on demand forecastsDevelop and maintain a 5-year capital project portfolio to include capital budgeting and execution that strikes a balance between non-discretionary, productivity and growth spendDisplay a dedication to lead, develop and support safety and promote a safety culture. Promote continuous process safety improvementEducation:Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering is preferred.
Other engineering or technology fields will be considered.Experience:Position requires 3-5 years of experience in a similar role.
Knowledge in finished formats (capsules, tablets, blister packs, sachets/stick packs, syringes, etc.), packaging equipment (bottling lines, case erectors, packers, conveying) and automation/robotics is preferred.Specific skills:Process Improvement - Proven application of Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen and 6 sigma methodologiesCAD - Working knowledge of CAD applications, P&IDs and control narrativesLeadership Skills - Must have strong leadership skills and the ability to direct, organize and motivate a cross functional teamCommunication Skills - Must be able to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
Must be able to write simple correspondence.
Must be able to effectively present information to other employeesMathematical Skills - Must have the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimalsReasoning Ability - Must have the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
