Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Cardiac Stepdown Duration: 12 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years; first timers accepted License: GA or Compact license must be in hand at time of submission Certifications: BLS and ACLS required Must-Have: Patient Population: Adults to Geriatrics Unit Admissions: Patients are admitted from various intensive care units and acute care floors. Common Conditions: - Post-operative CABG, thoracic surgeries, and vascular surgeries - Respiratory failure with multiple treatment modalities except invasive mechanical ventilation - Cardiac arrhythmias - Diabetic ketoacidosis - Gastrointestinal bleed - Trauma - Cerebrovascular accidents - Seizures - Clinical Institute Withdrawal Assessment - Metabolic disorders - Renal failure - GI disorders - Hypertensive emergencies - Sepsis - Neuro disorders Patient Ratio: 1:3-4 Average Daily Census: 21 on a 32 bed unit Unit Systems: Epic, Pyxis, SBAR, AirVo, BiPap, and CPAP Scrub Color: Navy Blue RTO: Maximum 7 days Weekends: Every other weekend Floating: Yes, within facility Call Requirements: None Holidays: If one major holiday occurs during the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work it. If two major holidays fall during the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work both holidays. If three major holidays fall during the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work two of the holidays. Compliance: Full compliance is required to start on time. If not compliant in time, the start may be pushed back by 2 weeks due to the orientation schedule. Candidates must be available to submit core items and complete labs within 48 hours of signing the contract to ensure an on-time start. Return travelers must complete one successful assignment outside of prior facilities before rebooking. References: Two supervisory references are highly preferred at the time of submission. Must be manager level or above; charge nurses are not accepted. No holiday RTO can be requested for one or two major holidays occurring during the assignment period. If three major holidays occur, one holiday RTO request can be reviewed for approval.
