manage neuro stepdown patients using evidence-based neuro nursing
practices Perform NIHSS assessments and document neurological
status accurately and promptly Use EPIC to chart care, coordinate
orders, and communicate with the interdisciplinary team Provide
ACLS-level interventions when needed and participate in emergency
response Deliver compassionate patient and family education about
conditions, treatments, and recovery Collaborate with physicians,
case management, and unit staff to ensure safe transitions of care
Maintain thorough documentation, verify competencies, and uphold
unit standards for safety Qualifications Active RN license (state
license) with Nursys license verification NIHSS certification —
MUST be included in CV packet to be considered Minimum 2 years of
experience in neuro specialty or strong med/surg RN with
demonstrated NIHSS and stepdown exposure EPIC experience — please
note EPIC on your profile ACLS certification Complete candidate
packet: current resume/work history with no gaps >60 days,
skills checklist, references, certification card, and
badge-appropriate photo Knowledge & Skills Neuro nursing best
practices and neuro stepdown care Proficiency performing and
interpreting NIHSS exams EPIC electronic health record use for
documentation and order management ACLS protocols and rapid
response participation Med/Surg and stepdown patient management
skills Clear communication and teamwork in high-acuity settings
