The RN Clinical Perioperative Nurse is a proactive member of an
interdisciplinary team. The nurse ensures that patients, families,
and significant others receive individualized high-quality, safe
patient care. They practice in a clinical environment administered
by Nurse Managers and other leaders. The framework for practice is
supported through evidence-based practice and research. RN
competencies are derived from these models and supported by core
competencies. All RN Clinical Nurses are licensed, knowledgeable,
and uphold the practice of nursing as outlined by the Professional
Nurse Practice Act. They implement the Scope of Practice and Code
of Ethics Standards as defined by the Nursing Association. As a
member of the patient services team, the nurse upholds the voice of
the patient and system policies. They also support service
excellence goals. Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
The nurse performs the Nursing Process (assessment, diagnosis,
identification of outcomes, planning, implementation, and
evaluation). They use evidence-based practice and ensure that care

outcomes. The nurse provides relationship-based, patient-centered
