Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Contract Packaging Procurement
Lead to join our Outsourced Finished Goods team. This role will
report to the Director of Supply Chain & External Operations. The
ideal candidate will be responsible for owning the contract
packaging RFQ (Request for Quote) process with our 3rd party
contract packaging vendors, including creating and sending out
RFQs, communicating with suppliers, negotiating, and analyzing
bids. This role requires strong leadership skills, excellent
communication and analytical abilities, and a solid understanding
of CPG contract packaging processes.Location: This position is
based in Atlanta, GA or the Green Bay, WI with up to 20%
travel.What You Will Do
- Lead the contract packaging RFQ (Request for Quote) process,
including preparing and issuing RFQs, evaluating vendor proposals,
negotiating pricing terms, and selecting vendors
- Continuously seek to transform the existing RFQ process to
reduce administrative workload and minimize the risk of human error
by creating predefined templates that accelerate the procurement
cycle, leading to faster, data-driven decision-making and cost
savings
- Create, utilize, and continuously look to improve data
visualization tools to create dashboards and reports that provide
insights into procurement activities. Present data in a clear and
actionable format for stakeholders
- Collaborate with various capability partners, including
packaging engineering, supply planning, quality, and direct
materials sourcing, to ensure the contract packaging scope of work
is well defined and requirements are clearly documented
- Analyze cost components and identify cost-saving opportunities
through process improvements, advanced packaging buying strategies,
and strategic sourcing. Implement projects designed to generate
value
- Benchmark costs against industry standards and market trends to
ensure competitive pricing
- Validate quoting accuracies at our co-packers by occasionally
performing activities such as time studies and production output
reviews. Negotiate updated pricing for discrepancies
discovered
- Adopt a joint ownership model with the contract packaging
operations manager to ensure the on-time and successful
commercialization of our CPG products at our 3rd party
manufacturing partnersWho You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business
Administration, Engineering, OR extensive related working
experience
- 5+ years of experience in a supplier management, contract
packaging, or procurement role
- Experience negotiating contracts and pricing.
- Experience with RFQ processes and vendor management
- Experience utilizing data analytics and market data to
